Ho Weng Kee @ SS2, Petaling Jaya

I love beef brisket noodles and will not hesitate to travel far in search of them. I didn't have to travel far this time as Ho Weng Kee is situated in SS2.

No frills dining

Tasty choi sum marinated in oyster sauce.

This dish may look simple in both preparation and aesthetics but you would be surprised that the taste and consistency varies from different restaurants. This is one of the better beef brisket noodle I've tried even outranking the famous outlet at Kam Heong in PJ State (next to UOB Bank opposite Menara MPPJ) with the latter being too soft and gooey.
The star anise leaves a pleasent after taste and the consistency of the brisket is just perfect, chewy without melting in your mouth.

Beef brisket with soup. Taste blander than the dry version but good nonetheless.

Ho Weng Kee's specialty is wantan mee and curry wantan mee. I haven't tried those since I don't have a particular liking for wantan mee. You will have to ask the waitstaffs for the beef brisket dish as it is not listed on their menu.

Just keep a lookout for the huge duck !
